Admissions Process

New Student Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Father Dueñas Memorial School. The following information is provided to guide you through the admissions process. We look forward to welcoming you to our Father Dueñas family.

How to Apply:

1) Submit Documentation

The necessary documents for applying to FDMS include the following:

• A completed Application for Admission Form, 
• A photocopy of applicant’s most recent report card,
• Current standardized test scores (for example, ACT Aspire scores), and 
• A photocopy of the applicant’s birth certificate

Please submit your application as soon as possible. Applications cannot be reviewed until all required documents are turned in to the school.

2) Pay Application Fee

The required application fee is $50.00. Please make check payable to Father Dueñas Memorial School. Payment can be made at the FD Business Office. If you are mailing your application documents to FD, you may also include your payments with your documents.

3) Take the Entrance Exam

After submitting a completed application, prospective students must take an entrance exam.  At minimum, the Application for Admission Form and the $50.00 application/testing fee must be submitted before taking the entrance exam.

• Saturday, February 28, 2026 (Test Prep on February 26)
• Saturday, March 21, 2026 (Test Prep on March 18)

For Saturday group testing, applicants are asked to check in at the Quad no later than 8:30 a.m. Testing will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. and end at approximately 12:30 p.m. Within this time, there will be two short breaks between sections for the applicants to relax. There are three sections for the entrance test:

• Mathematics:  A 40 minute math section that covers topics from basic arithmetic to algebra 2. Students are not expected to know all the problems.
• Reasoning: This 40 minute section checks students' abilities to find relationships between items and compute math mentally. 
• Reading: The reading section tests vocabulary, syntactic similarities, paragraph reading, and sequence sequencing.

Students are welcome to attend the Entrance Test Prep conducted in the Quad at 6:00 pm the Wednesday or Thursday before each test date. A set of practice problems for the mathematics section is available:

Following the exam, parents will be notified by email of their son’s acceptance status. If accepted, parents will receive all the necessary information to complete the registration process for their new FDMS student.

Middle of the Year Transfers

For prospective students seeking to transfer to FDMS in the middle of the school year, all provisions of the school’s admission policy apply but the time line may be adjusted to meet the needs of the student as well as the school.

Former Students Admissions

Students who transferred out of Father Dueñas Memorial School and who later desire to return must reapply as a new student.  (See section “New Student Admissions” above.)

Waitlist Policy

Students accepted to Father Dueñas Memorial School after a class has been filled will be placed on a waiting list. Should a vacancy occur in the class applied for, the family will be notified so that any remaining steps in the registration procedure can be completed.  A student must be formally accepted to Father Dueñas, and the registration fee must be paid in order for a student to be placed on the waiting list. While on the waiting list, the registration fee is refundable. However, if a refund is given, the student will lose his place on the waitlist.
