Friars set standard

The defending champion Father Duenas Friars started off on the right foot last night. In their season opener against the Guam High Panthers in an Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam Golf League match, all four of the Friars' returning players claimed victory to chalk up a 1-0 record for their team, according to head coach Bill Reyes.

"The closest game today was (J.R.) Iwanaga's against Senton Fitzgerald," said Reyes. "And I'm very proud of my team to start off on a good note. I hope we can continue to do this." The other Friars' winners are Andy Williams, 5-4, against Travis Smith; Stephen Gatewood, 5-4, against Michael Hatcher; and Matthew Tedtaotao, 5-4, against DeAndre Miller.
